Deathwood is an Italian horror punk band formed in Abruzzo, Italy, in 2011.
Its sound combines American horror punk style together with horror themes taken from local myths and legends.
Deathwood released its first ep of the same name in 2012, recorded with the producer Davide Rosati
on Acme Recording Studios and mastered by Riccardo “Paso” Pasini on Studio73.
They shot its first video “The Victim” directed by Davide Cilloni (Eklipse Design),
then played and shared the stage with many bands around the Italy.
In October 2012 “Lake of the undead” was included in “THE MUSIC OF HORROR-PUNKS VOLUME THREE”
a compilation from Horror-Punks.com.
On November, Deathwood released on-line (free download) its second single “Number 85”,
and it made a new video, “You are dead”, together with Don’t Panic Film.
In September 2013, the band embarked on a Dutch tour, and on October it was the opening act
for CJ Ramone ft. Johnny “2 bags” and Dave Hidalgo (Social Distortion) concert, in Pescara.
On December of the same year Deathwood won first place as best punk-hardcore at MYO Survival War.
During 2014 Deathwood played in many clubs and festivals in Italy, and it continued writing new songs.
After that, on October, the band signed to the OVERDUB RECORDING, and its late video “Number 85” (Don’t Panic FILM).
The band won the AQ Musical Festival and it was awarded the recording of a demotape together with JAMROCK RECORDS (L’Aquila).
On October, Deathwood started a new music tour in Germany and Italy.
In January 2016, its first full length “…And if it Were True?” was released and published
on several musical platformsand it was followed by a new video “Ghost”.
In 2016 Freak M was replaced by a new guitarist, Mr. T, who had already played with the band during the European tour in 2015.
From 2015 to 2018, the band played in many different countries, such as Germany, France, Belgium, Denmark, Russia performing in several important clubs and share the stage with some punk legend like Marky Ramone and italian Derozer.
Always in 2017, the band released its last video “Memories”, a new single taken from “…And if it Were True?”.
Due to some personal issues and the COVID shit, the band stops its activities.
Now the time has come and Deathwood are ready to record new stuff and play around the globe again.
